The East Side Parks planning process will build on work done by the community for the East Side Greenways planning process to conceptualize plans for improving the parks in the Edgewood, Kirkwood, and East Lake neighborhoods. Special attention will be given to: Coan Park, Gilliam Park, Dekalb Memorial Park, Walker Park, Bessie Branham Park, and East Lake Park as well as the connections between these areas and possible expansions of greenspace. Funding sources are not secure, but will be more likely to materialize if there is strong public input and support for the final concept. .
