How the Program Works:
Neighborhood groups can apply for grants two ways:
NPU Sponsored Projects
$1000 is allocated to each Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU). Neighborhood groups submit proposals to their NPU, and the NPU selects one or more proposals for funding (in the case of multiple proposals, the total must not exceed $1000). The NPU submits to Park Pride the project/s which they have selected for funding.
Upon confirmation of the matching funds (applicant must match grant on a dollar for dollar basis), and a project status report, 90% of the funds will be issued to the recipient. The final 10% will be issued upon receipt of the final project report.
Undesignated Projects
IIn addition to the NPU sponsored projects, funds have been allocated for additional grants of up to $1000. Proposals are accepted citywide and will be reviewed based on the merit of the project and the ability of the applicant to achieve the proposed outcome. Endorsement of the affected neighborhood organization is required.
After the applicant is notified of a grant award, they submit a request for distribution of funds. All requests for funds must be accompanied by confirmation of the matching funds, and a project status report, 90% of the funds are issued to the recipient. The final 10% are issued upon receipt of the final project report.
