The city lags behind other American cities in every measure of park acreage, and the parks we do have are often unsafe and poorly maintained. To help out Atlanta parks donate to Park Pride.

Here are a few things that you can do to make your parks, your community and your city better. Do not get discouraged. Remember that all of Atlanta's parks, recreation facilities and greenspaces belong to you.

• Find other people in your community who are interested in parks and work with them
• Attend Park Pride’s Annual Parks and Greenspace Conference
• Develop an active parks/greenspace committee in your neighborhood organization
• Learn more about PARC 911 and join our coalition
• Let the Mayor and your City Council Representative know that you care about parks - And ask what your elected officials are doing to make them better
• Sign up for Park Pride's electronic newsletter and e-mail updates
• Identify service projects that would improve a park or greenspace and work with Park Pride to organize a Park Volunteer Day
• Adopt a Park
