Kimpson Park Community Garden
Making a neighborhood park come alive
Kimpson Park is a small park in historic South Atlanta. The garden turns this seldom-used park into a dynamic space for sustainable agriculture and community involvement. The garden hosts programs twice a year to teach residents the basics about growing organic vegetables. The garden brings together the many different types of people that live in South Atlanta and creates a common bond around urban agriculture. In addition to individual plots, several of the gardeners participate in a community plot in which they share both the gardening responsibilities and the harvest.
