Collier Heights Park Community Garden
Forging healthy relationships between seniors and youth
The garden in Collier Heights Park also goes by the name Intergenerational Garden at Collier. The focus of this garden is to build a sense of community and relationships between seniors and local children. The garden offers programming from Master Gardeners and the local UGA extension office to help teach gardeners how plan a vegetable garden, plant seeds, and maintain a garden. The garden also sponsors more general programming around health and wellness. In 2011, the gardeners are installing accessible high raised beds so that everyone has an opportunity to garden, regardless of physical ability.
