A. D. Williams Park Community Garden

A partnership that provides programs to lay the foundation for healthy lifestyles

A. D. Williams Park Community Garden

This garden’s construction in June 2011 was a great success thanks to volunteers from Revive Atlanta and the help of local kids spending the day in the park. The Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy is located adjacent to A.D. Williams Park, and students participate in garden as a way to enrich their biology, physical science, and environmental science curricula. The school will provide compost to the garden and will use the garden as a way to promote healthy dietary choices. The Atlanta Police Athletic League hosts youth programs in the recreation center in A.D. Williams Park, and the garden provides a hands-on learning opportunity for the youth who attend the summer camp there.
