Here are some stats from Park Pride’s program work in Atlanta communities in 2009:
5 new Community Gardens adopted in City of Atlanta parks.
91 Park Adoptions –a cumulative total through 2009.
Beautifying parks through increased maintenance standards, the Park of the Month program rewards parks crews 6 times per year—April through September, plus recognizes an outstanding crew with the Park of the Year award.
4 Park Visioning conceptual master plans completed--for Adams Park, East Side Greenways, Herbert Greene Nature Preserve and Little Nancy Creek Park . From 2005-2009, over $3.5 million of public & private funds were invested in the parks Park Pride has led through the community Park Visioning process.
94 Volunteer projects held in 37 different parks, with 4,733 individual volunteers and a combined 15,065 volunteer hours.
